Save Money on Your Next HDTV Screen by Buying Online

While online shopping proves safer and more popular than ever, investing in something like a new TV is a huge expense and many people do not want to spend the money without having seen what the picture is like first.

However, the advantages of buying your HDTV online are enormous and more than ever there is enough knowledge out there to help you choose without ever having to go into a store.
The internet offers independent advice in a way that you often do not find in stores. Many people feel quite pressured into a sale and at the end of the day there is only one person telling you which TV to buy.
Online, you can find tens, even hundreds of reviews on the TV’s you are looking at. These can be buy experts, or buy consumers like yourself who have bought and watched the TV and can tell you their experience.

The other advantage is that online shopping is almost always cheaper. Many stores build the price of their overheads- the store space, the staff and the running costs, into the prices of their TV’s. Often this is why buying online is so discounted, because these costs are not passed onto you.

Buying online can often give you access to bargain deals that you would never find on the high street. Many stores sell factory seconds or ex display TV’s that can be sold at massively discounted prices.
Security wise, most online shopping is very safe as long as you follow certain guidelines. Only ever buy from an established provider is top of the list, and make sure that they offer you a secure site for transactions. Better still, use Paypal as this third party service not only protects your bank details but insures the all or some of the cost if your purchase if someone is fraudulent.

Some people are concerned that if they buy a TV online without seeing it first, then they will be stuck with it. However there is a Distance Selling Regulation (DSR) that aims to protect consumers by allowing them to return items bough online within seven working days. Within this period you can send back your TV without giving any reason for the return and the company will refund you the cost less postage. All your benefit of buying your HDTV over the internet is DSR (Distance Selling Regulation). This is a form of protection which allows you to return the TV within seven working days. Within this time frame you don’t need to give a reason for the return, and you’ll receive a full refund minus postage costs. DSR comes into action only when there has been no face to face contact between the consumer and the provider, so if you have talked to someone in a store and then bought the TV online, you won’t be eligible for it. DSR does not apply to eBay purchases, unless you use the Buy It Now feature.

So if you have been concerned about shopping online, make sure to remember that these days there are many protections in place for consumers and if you shop right and shop smart you will find that you can save yourself hundreds of pounds by shopping online.
