Panasonic has come out with a bang to show the world the first 42inch 1080p plasma TV. This takes Panasonic right up there in the Plasma and LCD TV market. Currently there are no other manufacturers offering 1080p resolution in the 42inch category and this makes the company’s release of the TH-42PZ700U all the more advantageous.

The TH-42PZ700U comes with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. The TV has 2 HDMI slots as well as a SD card slot so the users can easily have a look at the videos and still photos they have clicked on their digital camera. The TV has a 16:9 aspect ratio along with a 5000:1 contrast ratio. It also supports 480p, 720p, 1080i resolutions.

Other additional features and i/p connections include - 4 Audio inputs, 2 composite audio/video inputs, 2 S-video inputs, 1 VGA input and 1 Composite audio/video input (RCA). Of course a 3.5mm headphone jack is also there on the front.

The Panasonic TH-42PZ700U costs around $2,499 and is pretty decently priced.
