Sony KDL-20S3000 – Review

This 20” widescreen HD ready TV is a little beauty perfect for bedrooms or the kitchen. From the Sony Bravia range, it has the quality LCD screen with great colour depth, especially in the reds and greens, that Bravia is renowned for. With a widescreen resolution of 1366 x 768 the picture image is incredibly crisp, which is to be expected from this reputable series.

Maybe what makes it stand out over other televisions in its class is that in keeping with its bedroom feel the Sony KDL 20S3000 comes in a quite dazzling array of colours. If you are bored of the bog standard metallic silver and black, you can also buy it in light blue, lilac, mocha, silky white or even pink. Obviously it’s HD ready, and it comes with built in freeview so it’s nice and tidy. For a medium screen TV like this, it also offers a surprising amount of HDMI and Scart connections so you can hook up your DVD, BLU RAY and gaming consoles. There are 2 HDMI sockets at the rear and one at the side. It also has 2 scart connections. This is a great feature if you have a family of gamers, as it saves plugging and unplugging various consoles.

The sound is pretty decent for such a small TV but if you are looking for a real home theatre feel then you should consider getting separate speakers. In this 20” range though, this Sony KDL-20S3000 definitely has some of the best sound on offer, and combined with its excellent picture quality you’ll find there are few stronger options in this price range.
